How vacation works in Colombia (reference)
- • Accrual: 15 business days per year worked (proportional: 15 × days / 360).
- • Payout: salary × pending days / 30; all pending days paid at contract end.
- • Timing: Within the year after accruing them, by agreement with the employer.
- • Accumulation limit: Generally up to 2 years (4 for special cases) by agreement.

Questions
How many vacation days do I get in Colombia?
15 consecutive paid business days per year of service (labor code art. 186). With less than a year, you accrue proportionally: 15 × days worked / 360.
Can vacation be paid out in money?
While employed, only up to half can be compensated in money (by agreement). When the contract ends, ALL pending vacation is paid in the final settlement: salary × pending days / 30.
Are vacation days business days or calendar days?
BUSINESS days: Sundays and holidays do not count toward your 15. Saturday counts as a business day only if your company normally works Saturdays.
