Questions
How is net salary calculated in Colombia?
From gross: employee health 4% + pension 4%. Add transport allowance if you earn up to 2 minimum wages. Solidarity pension fund is 1% from 4 minimum wages. Income-tax withholding uses Procedure 2 after the 25% labor exemption — many salaries under ~COP 7M withhold nothing. Independents pay health/pension/ARL on 40% IBC instead.
Why is withholding $0 on my salary?
After subtracting contributions and the 25% labor exemption, the taxable base is often under 95 UVT (about COP 5.0M of taxable base in 2026). That bracket is 0%. Extra deductions like dependents can keep withholding at zero even higher.
Why is my actual net different from this calculator?
Payslips also subtract loans, garnishments, prepaid medicine, union dues, and company-specific benefits. Independents may face a different withholding rate on invoices. Check payroll or an accountant.
