How do I check my contributed pension weeks with Colpensiones?

If you contribute to a private fund such as Porvenir, Protección, Colfondos or Skandia, check the statement on your fund's site. The Health Ministry's RUAF tells you which fund you belong to.

Who needs it

Anyone who has paid pension contributions in Colombia, including foreigners with a cédula de extranjería, to check that contributions are complete or to plan their pension.

What you need

The document type and number you are enrolled with (cédula or cédula de extranjería).
A registered email, or the one where you want to receive your historia laboral.
For the Sede Electrónica: a username and password (free registration on the portal).
If you don't know your fund: your ID to look it up on RUAF at ruaf.sispro.gov.co.

Step by step

1If you don't know your fund, check RUAF at ruaf.sispro.gov.co with your ID.
2If you're with Colpensiones, go to colpensiones.gov.co and choose Zona Transaccional > Sede Electrónica.
3Log in or register; you can also use the Historia laboral por email option without an account.
4Download the historia laboral and check periods, employers, salaries and total weeks.
5If a period is missing, file the solicitud de corrección de historia laboral under Trámites en Línea with supporting documents.
6If you're in a private fund, download the statement or work history from your fund's website or app.

Tips and common mistakes

Nobody may charge you for your historia laboral. It's free online, at PAC offices and at CADE or SuperCADE points.
Check it at least once a year: if an employer didn't pay, it's easier to claim early.
If you live abroad, you can authorise someone in Colombia to file the correction for you.
If you worked in your home country, ask whether it has a social security agreement with Colombia to combine periods.
