Colombia Move now has a dedicated section for Babies and Kids. We added it because the Colombian market for children's items doesn't behave like a generic category of clothing or furniture: parents search by stage, safety, and specific use.
The new section already organizes listings for strollers, car seats, cribs, playpens, breastfeeding, feeding, toys, hygiene, safety and children's clothing. You can see Babies and Kids on Colombia Move or post for free from the same form.
Research confirms this breakdown makes sense. Pepe Ganga separates babies into strollers, car seats, baby room, high chairs, hygiene, stimulation toys, bottles and safety. Éxito has dedicated pages for cribs, co-sleepers, playpens and travel systems. Rappi also groups strollers, seats, accessories, bedroom, breastfeeding, hygiene and safety. When retailers separate demand this way, a classifieds site shouldn't treat it as a generic bucket.
Why this category can work in Colombia
Although births have declined, Colombia still has a huge market for children's items. DANE reported 433,678 preliminary births in 2025. Each baby means months of purchases and, shortly after, items that stop being useful: strollers, cribs, high chairs, clothing by size, stimulation toys and bath accessories.
That cycle is perfect for a local marketplace. Many baby items are used for a short time, take up space, and have value for another family if in good condition. For sellers, it means recovering money and freeing up space. For buyers, it means finding expensive brands or items at better prices, near their city.
The key is trust. With children's items, the buyer doesn't just ask 'how much does it cost'. They ask if it's complete, if it's safe, if it fits in their car, if it works for their baby's age and if they can see it before paying. That's why the new categories aren't decoration: they help each listing land where the buyer is already thinking.

How it compares with what we researched
| Market signal | How it appears on Colombia Move |
|---|---|
| Strollers, walkers, car seats, carriers and travel systems appear separately in large stores. | Strollers, Car Seats and Carriers, for high-value and high-intent searches. |
| Cribs, co-sleepers, playpens and baby room are purchased by measurements, stage and space. | Cribs, Playpens and Baby Room, with emphasis on measurements, pieces and condition. |
| Breastfeeding, bottles, high chairs and utensils form their own group in retail. | Breastfeeding and Feeding, to separate hygiene and food accessories from furniture or clothing. |
| Hygiene, bath, health and safety appear as concrete needs, not as "other". | Bath, Hygiene and Safety, for bathtubs, monitors, railings, diaper pails and care. |
| Stimulation toys and children's clothing are searched by age, size and stage. | Toys and Stimulation y Baby and Kids Clothing, so bundles and small items don't get lost. |
The result doesn't copy the structure of a large store. It adjusts to the behavior of a local marketplace: fewer aisles, but each with clear intent. We also avoided opening categories that are too small from day one. Diapers, formulas, creams and consumables can live for now within Hygiene or Feeding, because many are new products, perishable or sensitive. If volume grows, they can be separated later with real data.

What to post in each category
Strollers, car seats and carriers
Use this category for strollers, walkers, travel systems, car seats, bases, carriers, wraps and baby carriers. It's one of the most important categories because it mixes high price with urgent need. For car seats, the description must be much more complete than other products: model, manufacturing date, weight/height limit, harness condition, base, manual, pieces and whether or not it's been in an accident.
Important note about used car seats
Not all used seats are a good buy. Before selling or buying, check manufacturing date, expiration, manual, complete pieces, safety recalls and if it was involved in a crash. If you can't confirm the seat's history, it's better to pass.
Cribs, playpens and baby room
This includes cribs, play yards, co-sleepers, playpens, crib mattresses, changing tables, mobiles, organizers, rockers and bedroom furniture. Measurements matter. A buyer wants to know if it fits in their room, if it folds, if it has a carrying bag, if the mattress is included and if there are missing pieces.
Breastfeeding and feeding
This category covers pumps, bottles, sterilizers, high chairs, dishes, training cups, bibs, thermoses and complementary feeding accessories. Hygienic condition should be clear: new, used a few times, sterilized, complete pieces, packaging or replacements.
Toys and stimulation
For play gyms, walkers, rattles, mats, Montessori toys, fabric books, blocks, rockers and early stimulation items. With toys, photos of wear and complete pieces are more important than a long description.
Bath, hygiene and safety
This includes bathtubs, diaper pails, monitors, railings, safety gates, protectors, nasal aspirators, thermometers and care accessories. It's a category that can grow well because many items are bought for specific needs and stop being used quickly.
Baby and kids clothing
The kids clothing category now also covers baby clothing. The ideal is to sell by bundle: size, number of pieces, season, condition and brands. A bundle of bodysuits 0-3 months or pajamas 6-9 months is usually more attractive than a single piece.
How to make your listing receive messages
Most baby listings fail due to lack of detail. 'Stroller in good condition' isn't enough. With children's items, buyers want to avoid a wasted trip, so they reward clear sellers.
- Brand and model: helps compare and search for spare parts or manuals.
- Actual age: when you bought it, how much use it had and what stage it works for.
- Honest condition: stains, missing pieces, scratches, zippers, wheels, brakes or harness.
- Measurements: key for cribs, playpens, mattresses, furniture and large strollers.
- Delivery: city, neighborhood, whether you ship or the buyer picks up.
- Safety: for car seats, publish manufacturing date, visible expiration if applicable, accident history and photos of the harness/base.
If you want to improve the text before publishing, use this guide: how to write a description that generates messages. The logic works perfectly for baby items: concrete details, visible defects and delivery conditions.
Tips for buyers
Buy baby items with the same care you would use to buy an important appliance. Ask for current photos, not just catalog images. Verify measurements. Ask about missing pieces. For cribs and playpens, check stability, locks, screws, mattress and folding system. For strollers, wheels, brakes, handlebar, belt and closing mechanism.
For car seats, be stricter. The Ministry of Transportation and ANSV remind you that child restraint systems must be chosen and installed correctly. The SIC also recommends checking safety campaigns, instructions, complete elements, fit and general condition. If you can't confirm the history of a used seat, don't buy on impulse.
And if you're going to see an expensive item, check the seller's profile. On Colombia Move you can enter their store, look at other listings and read trust signals before messaging on WhatsApp.
For that part, this guide also helps: how to spot a good seller store in Colombia.
Why we launched it now
Colombia Move already works well for housing, jobs, services, vehicles, furniture and used items. Babies and Kids was the obvious gap: too big to leave mixed with clothing, furniture or 'other'.
It's also a very community-oriented category. Many families prefer to buy from someone nearby, see the item, ask on WhatsApp and negotiate directly. That fits with Colombia Move's core idea: local listings, no commission, direct contact and pages that Google can find.
The goal is not to look like a big store. It's to make sure good things that a family no longer uses find another home without getting lost in wrong categories.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to post baby items on Colombia Move?
Posting is free. We don't charge commission on sales and the buyer contacts you directly via WhatsApp or using the information you left in the listing.
Can I post new and used things?
Yes. You can post new, used or clearance items. What matters is stating the real condition from the beginning.
What category do I use for a high chair?
Use Nursing and Feeding. Even though it's a chair, the buyer searches for it by feeding, not furniture.
What category do I use for a stroller with car seat included?
Use Strollers, Car Seats and Baby Carriers. In the description clarify if it's a travel system, what pieces it includes and if the car seat has base, manual and visible manufacturing date.
What if I don't know exactly which category?
Choose the closest one. Colombia Move's form and search already understand terms like baby stroller, crib, diapers, bottles, baby tub, baby toys and baby clothes to take buyers to the right place.
