There is a huge difference between “I need a plumber today in Laureles” and “I want to search for providers until I find someone.” The first phrase is urgent, local, and concrete. That is why we have reinforced the I need help page with a quick request feature, a daily jobs feed, and a simple way for providers to receive opportunities via WhatsApp.

Quick answer:
  • If you need help: go to I need help, choose category, city, neighborhood, budget, and WhatsApp.
  • If you offer a service: check Daily jobs or activate the form to receive requests via WhatsApp.
  • If you have a stable service: publish or improve your profile in Trades and services.

Real platform data: the counters you see in I need help — active service ads and open requests — are calculated live every time you open the page, and since July 2026, a map shows each open request as a pin in its city. Old requests expire on their own, so what you see is always current.

What changed in I need help

The page I need help is now designed to publish a request without going through the entire long form. It works for things like hourly cleaning, a small leak, a move, running an errand, a class, help for an event, or paperwork. You put in the basics and the request is published.

The most important novelty is that the flow speaks the way people actually ask for help in Colombia: city, neighborhood or area, when you need it, estimated budget, and WhatsApp. No filling out fields that don't apply. If you want to add more details or photos, the full form is still available.

July 2026 update: the page now includes a map of open requests (each pin is a person asking for help in their neighborhood), a new template to ask for a handyman for repairs and counters by category and city. If you are wondering how much is paid for those repairs, we published a 2026 handyman price guide.

The quick request is made for concrete needs: city, budget, timing, and direct contact.

How to publish a quick request step by step

I would use it like this, without complicating things:

  1. Go to colombiamove.com/necesito-ayuda.
  2. Choose the type of help: cleaning, moving, handyman for repairs, plumbing, electricity, deliveries, paperwork, classes, events, or another trade.
  3. Write a short title. Example: “Looking for a plumber for a leak under the sink.”
  4. Choose city and add neighborhood or area if applicable.
  5. Mark if you need it today, this week, or if you are flexible.
  6. Add an approximate budget in COP and your WhatsApp.
  7. Publish and share the request if you want to move it faster.

My advice: don't just write “I need help.” Write what happened, where you are, when you can receive the person, and how much you expect to pay. A clear request saves useless messages and better filters those who can actually help you.

If the case needs photos, video, or more context, jump to the full form to publish. For a simple request, the quick version is usually enough.

What happens after publishing

After publishing, the request remains active and you can open it to see it as others will see it. An option to share via WhatsApp also appears, because often the right contact comes through a friend, a neighbor, or someone in the building.

Additionally, the flow leads you to see related providers in Trades and services. For example, if you publish a plumbing request in Medellín, you can check providers and local pages like plumbing in Medellín to compare options.

If you offer services: look at Daily jobs

For providers, the key place is Daily jobs. There you can see open requests by city, category, and timing: today, this week, or flexible. It is useful if you do cleaning, moving, repairs, deliveries, events, classes, paperwork, plumbing, or electricity.

We also added a card to receive requests via WhatsApp. It is simple: you say what service you offer, in what city you work, your neighborhood or area, and your number. With that, your service becomes active and the system can better connect demand with nearby providers.

RouteUse it when...Example
I need helpyou want to ask for specific help“Looking for a plumber today in Medellín”
Daily jobsyou want to respond to open requestscleaning, moving, events, errands
Trades and servicesyou want to offer your service permanentlyplumbing, electricity, classes, maintenance

When to use each section

The easy rule is this: if you need to solve something specific, use I need help. If you are looking for daily work or quick clients, check Daily jobs. If you want your business or service to live in the marketplace every day, publish in Trades and services.

If you want to go deeper from the provider side, I recommend reading how to get clients for services in Colombia and also the guide to publishing cleaning or maintenance services. Both go into more detail about trust, photos, description, and follow-up.

Tips for receiving better responses

  • Be specific with the neighborhood: “Medellín” helps; “Laureles, near 70th street” helps more.
  • Say when you need it: today, this week, or flexible completely changes the response.
  • Include budget: even if it is approximate, it avoids lost conversations.
  • Use WhatsApp carefully: share the number you are actually going to answer.
  • Close the request once it has been resolved: so other providers don't waste time writing.

The part I like most about this flow is that it doesn't force you to choose between searching and posting. You can ask for help, review providers, share the request, and close it when it's resolved. That makes the platform feel more like a real work tool and less like an abandoned message board.

Frequently Asked Questions

❓ How much does it cost to post a quick request?

As of July 2026, posting a quick request on this page is free. You can ask for local help, add city, category, budget, and WhatsApp without paying a commission to post.

❓ Do I need to create an account to ask for help?

You can post with WhatsApp and, if you want, add an email. The goal of the quick flow is to reduce friction for one-off requests, without forcing you to go through a long registration process before explaining what you need.

❓ What is the difference between I need help and Trades and services?

I need help is for a one-off request: “I'm looking for someone for this.” Trades and services is for providers who offer something on a permanent basis: cleaning, plumbing, classes, maintenance, paperwork, or similar.

❓ What is Daily jobs?

Daily jobs is the feed where providers can see open requests and respond to one-off opportunities. You can filter by city, category, and timing: today, this week, or flexible.

❓ Where do I post if I offer services?

If you offer services, post your profile in Trades and services or use the quick registration card in Daily jobs. Add category, city, area, and WhatsApp so that nearby requests are easier to identify.

❓ How do I avoid scams when hiring or responding?

As a rule of thumb within the platform in July 2026, start with requests that have a city, neighborhood, clear task, and explained budget. Before paying or traveling, confirm via WhatsApp what will be done, where, when, and under what conditions.

❓ What information should I provide to get faster responses?

Include city, neighborhood, what you need, when you need it, approximate budget, and an active WhatsApp. If the case requires photos, use the full form to provide more context from the start.
