How the prima works (2026 reference)
- • Amount: 15 days of salary per full semester (base × days / 360).
- • Deadlines: June 30 and December 20.
- • Transport allowance: Added to the base if you earn ≤ 2 SMMLV (≤ COP 3,501,810 in 2026).
- • Who: All labor-contract employees, incl. domestic workers; proportional if you worked part of the semester.

When is the prima paid in 2026?
The first-semester prima is due by June 30, 2026 and the second by December 20. A full semester equals 15 days of salary.
How is prima de servicios calculated?
Prima = (base × days worked in the semester) / 360. The base is your monthly salary; if you earn up to 2 minimum wages (COP 3,501,810 in 2026), the COP 249,095 transport allowance is added.
Who is entitled to the prima?
Every employee with a labor contract (fixed, indefinite or per-project), including domestic workers, proportional to time worked. Independent service contractors do not receive prima.
