How do I get or check the PPT for Venezuelans?
The PPT is the free ID document Migración Colombia issues to Venezuelans under the Temporary Protection Statute (ETPV), and it is valid until May 30, 2031. In 2026 new pre-registration in the RUMV is only open to children and teenagers enrolled in school or in ICBF programs. If you already applied, check online whether your PPT is ready and collect it.

Who needs it
Venezuelan citizens who meet the ETPV conditions. New registration is currently only for minors in school or ICBF programs; adults who already applied can check status, collect, or request a duplicate.
What you need
- Be a Venezuelan citizen and meet the conditions of the Temporary Protection Statute (Decree 216 of 2021).
- Pre-registration in the RUMV (currently only for minors enrolled in school or in ICBF programs).
- Venezuelan ID: cédula, passport, PEP or birth certificate.
- Formulario Único de Trámites (FUT) and biometric registration (mandatory from age 7).
- Minors: proof of school or ICBF enrollment and a parent or legal guardian present.
Step by step
- 1Complete RUMV pre-registration in Migración Colombia's authorization system (if it applies to you).
- 2Fill in the FUT at apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/registro.
- 3Book an appointment at apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/citas and attend with original documents for biometrics.
- 4Wait for the decision: Migración has 90 calendar days and may request extra documents, giving you 30 days to respond.
- 5Check 'PPT para entrega' (apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/aplicaciones/entrega-ppt) to see if your document is ready.
- 6Collect it at the point Migración indicates, based on the address in your pre-registration.
Tips and common mistakes
- The PPT is free and needs no intermediaries. Nobody can charge you to 'speed it up' or for an appointment.
- If your PPT shows as ready for delivery, collect it soon: Migración has warned that uncollected PPTs are destroyed and the application is treated as withdrawn.
- The PPT expires on May 30, 2031. If you want to stay longer, you must get a Cancillería visa before May 28, 2031.
- Keep your address updated on Migración's platform, because delivery is based on your registered residence.
