New category: Sports and Fitness on Colombia Move

Colombia Move launches Sports and Fitness, a new category for buying and selling exercise equipment, sports gear, and items to stay active. From today, a stationary bike, an elliptical, or a set of dumbbells no longer has to end up hidden among furniture, decor, or transportation bicycles.

The category was born from real ads posted by our community. We found exercise equipment in good condition that didn't have a precise place within the marketplace. Instead of forcing sellers and buyers to choose an approximate option, we created a space that better responds to what they are offering and looking for.

What can you post in Sports and Fitness?

The new category is broad on purpose. We want to gather enough inventory before dividing it into smaller subcategories. For now, it includes:

• stationary bikes, spinning bikes, and pedal exercisers;
• ellipticals, treadmills, and runners;
• dumbbells, weight plates, bars, kettlebells, and weight benches;
• resistance bands, mats, foam rollers, and training accessories;
• balls, rackets, gloves, helmets, and other sports equipment;
• equipment for gyms, studios, residential complexes, and home training.

Bicycles designed for city commuting or cycling remain under Bicycles. The difference is simple: if it has wheels to transport you, it belongs in Bicycles; if it stays in one place for training, it belongs in Sports and Fitness.

The category starts with real inventory

The launch does not start from an empty page. We will relocate three active ads that already correspond to this category:

• Bicycle and elliptical for exercises in Palmira;
• Evolution elliptical in Bogotá;
• Mini stationary exercise bike in Bogotá.

In addition to correcting those ads, we updated the posting flow. The system now recognizes clear expressions like “elliptical,” “stationary bike,” “exercise bike,” “treadmill,” and “gym equipment” to suggest or apply the appropriate category. The rule is conservative: a mountain, road, or city bike will still appear among vehicles.

How to post used sports equipment

A complete post reduces repeated questions and allows the buyer to decide if the equipment fits in their space. Include this data:

1. Actual condition: indicate if it works fully, if it makes noise, if it shows wear, or if it needs maintenance.
2. Brand and model: also photograph the plate or label when it is still legible.
3. Measurements: publish height, width, and length. For large machines, add the recommended space to use them.
4. Weight and delivery: explain if it can be disassembled, what floor it is on, and who should handle the transport.
5. Accessories: mention chargers, adapters, weight plates, locks, manuals, or included parts.

Before taking the photos, clean the surfaces and remove objects that distract. Do not hide damage or use photos taken from the internet: transparency helps attract serious buyers and avoids problems during delivery.

We started with a single category to keep the search simple and concentrate the supply. As more ads arrive, we will measure which products appear most frequently and what users are looking for.
