24-Hour Pharmacies in Colombia: Where to Find Night Droguerías in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali

A practical guide to finding night droguerías in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali: how to read '24 HORAS' listings, what Cruz Verde and La Rebaja hours really mean, and when to call 123.

The worst time to learn that a pharmacy's "24 hours" sign has fine print is 1 a.m., with a sick kid or a missing refill and no time to waste. I have seen the same thing in all three big cities: a listing says 24 hours, but the door is shut, or only a window is open, or the branch you picked is inside a mall that closed at nine.

This guide is about finding a real night option in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali, and reading the listing correctly before you leave home. It is a finding guide, not medical advice.

First: is this a pharmacy problem or an emergency?

A night droguería is for a forgotten refill, an over-the-counter need, or a basic supply. It is not the place for chest pain, trouble breathing, unconsciousness, or major trauma. Those are emergencies.

Colombia's single national emergency number is 123: free, 24 hours, every day of the year, according to Función Pública (accessed October 2026). In Bogotá, the Secretaría Distrital de Salud says 123 also coordinates prehospital health response for listed critical events, and asks people not to clog it with non-urgent calls. A missing refill is not a 123 call.

If the problem is clinical, start with our ER triage and private clinics guide, and read the ambulance and emergency room protocol for how dispatch and payment work.

How to read a "24 hours" listing

Farmatodo's own store directory (farmatodo.com.co/tiendas, read 9 October 2026) mixes three kinds of entries: "24 HORAS," "24 HORAS PUERTAS ABIERTAS," and ordinary or mall hours. They are not the same printed label, and the directory does not define drive-thru or any night-window protocol. So do not assume you can walk in just because a map pin says 24 hours.

My four-step routine:

  1. Open the chain's own locator, not a third-party list.
  2. Match the street number to the place you are actually going to.
  3. Read the Sunday and holiday lines, which are often different.
  4. Check the doors or call before you travel, then go or order.

Honest downside: even official directories change, and third-party "top 10" pages go stale fast. If a site says "updated" but is not the operator, treat it as a hint only.

Bogotá: examples from Farmatodo's directory

Listed as "24 HORAS":

  • Farmatodo La Calleja, Av. Carrera 19 #127-53, Bogotá
  • Farmatodo AutoNorte, Carrera 45 #104-12, Bogotá

Listed as "24 HORAS PUERTAS ABIERTAS":

  • Farmatodo Parque 93, Calle 93A #12-73 Local 5
  • Farmatodo Rosales, Diagonal 70A #4-87
  • Farmatodo Navarra, Avenida Carrera 19 #103-98
  • Farmatodo Salitre 2, Carrera 68B #24A-30

There are more Bogotá rows than these, and they change, so use the Farmatodo store directory for the one nearest you.

Medellín and Cali: where to start

In Medellín, these Farmatodo entries are each listed "24 HORAS":

  • Farmatodo Milla de Oro, Calle 5 Sur #42-51, Medellín
  • The El Poblado listing at Calle 10 #35-20, El Poblado, Medellín
  • Farmatodo Laureles, Carrera 76 #33A-08, Medellín
  • Farmatodo Los Parra, Calle 1 Sur #36-71, Medellín
  • Farmatodo Las Vegas, Carrera 48 #15 Sur-160, Avenida Las Vegas

In Cali, also listed "24 HORAS":

  • Farmatodo Limonar, Calle 10 #66-22, Barrio El Limonar, Cali
  • Farmatodo Granada, Avenida 8 Norte #18N-44, Cali
  • Farmatodo Avenida del Río, Calle 1 Oeste #1-50, Cali
  • Farmatodo La Flora, Calle 44N #4B-78, Cali
  • Farmatodo Unicentro Cali, Carrera 100 #5-169 Local 250

Now the contrast. The Farmatodo Mall Plaza Cali entry is not a 24-hour listing: the directory prints 8:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., and shows both Calle 5 #52-140 and Calle 5 #52-253 on that single store entry. It is one pharmacy, not two. Mall clocks are the classic night trap.

Cruz Verde and La Rebaja: read the fine print

Cruz Verde's directory (cruzverde.com.co/droguerias) shows why "24 hours" can mislead. Some rows are marked 24 hours, yet the observaciones limit full dispensación to daytime hours and say the rest of the shift attends urgencias. At least one note says service is "por ventana." One visible example tied to daytime dispensación plus overnight urgencias is Calle 23 #66-46. That is not every 24-hour Cruz Verde, so open the live directory and read the note for your branch. The site showed a domicilios line of 601 486 5000 on 9 October 2026, and Cruz Verde itself warns service information can change, so recheck the number.

La Rebaja (Copservir) publishes a nearest-store locator at domicilioslarebaja.com, with phones 317 300 4444 and, for Cali, (602) 485-2289. It does not say every store is open all night, so I would not treat it as a 24-hour chain. Check that store's hours.

Delivery after midnight

Farmatodo says its online droguería delivery runs 24 hours, 7 days a week in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali, and its homepage advertises arrival in under 35 minutes. That is the chain's claim, not a promise: coverage, stock, and speed at 2 a.m. can differ. For how the ordering apps work, see our online pharmacy delivery guide; I am not repeating its comparison here.

The prescription rule at night

If the box says "Venta Bajo Fórmula Médica," the dispenser must require a valid prescription and cannot swap the prescribed product (Decreto 2200 de 2005). Under Decreto 334 de 2022, online sale of formula medicines is allowed only through droguerías and farmacias-droguerías that meet the pharmacy-service rules. Night hours do not waive any of it, and a foreign prescription is not automatically accepted.

For what a formula must contain, read the prescription medication guide. If you need a local doctor to issue one, try English-speaking doctors and specialists. And skip loose pills from informal sellers; a staffed chain counter is the better bet.

Holiday check: Monday 12 October 2026

Under Ley 2347 de 2024, 12 October is a national holiday officially named Día de la Diversidad Étnica y Cultural de la nación colombiana (many people still say Día de la Raza). In 2026 it falls on Monday 12 October. A holiday does not automatically close every 24-hour listing, but mall and festivo clocks can differ from a street store. Farmatodo already prints separate hours at some stores: Centro Internacional, Carrera 13 #27-08, Bogotá, shows 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. Recheck your specific branch before a holiday-night trip.

What to carry

  • The prescription, if the box requires one.
  • A charged phone with the live map pin.
  • The store's exact address from the official directory.

Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Are there 24-hour pharmacies in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali?

Yes. Selected Farmatodo stores in all three cities are listed as 24 hours or 24 hours with open doors, and some Cruz Verde listings are marked 24 hours. Confirm the exact branch the same night, because listings change.

❓ Does "24 hours" mean I can walk inside?

Not necessarily. Farmatodo's directory prints "24 HORAS PUERTAS ABIERTAS" as a different label from "24 HORAS," and it does not define drive-thru service. Confirm the doors on the store page or by phone before you travel.

❓ Can I buy a prescription medicine at night without a formula?

If the label says "Venta Bajo Fórmula Médica," the pharmacy must require a prescription, day or night. This guide cannot waive that rule, and a foreign prescription is not automatically accepted.

❓ Can I get medicine delivered overnight?

Farmatodo says its droguería delivery runs 24/7 in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali. Coverage, stock, and its under-35-minute line are the chain's claims, not guarantees, and formula medicines still need a prescription.

❓ Should I call 123 because the pharmacy is closed?

No. 123 is the free national emergency line, and in Bogotá it handles critical prehospital cases, not routine refills. Call it for chest pain, trouble breathing, unconsciousness, or major trauma.

❓ Will pharmacies keep weekday hours on a Monday holiday?

Not always. Under Ley 2347 de 2024, Monday 12 October 2026 is the national holiday Día de la Diversidad Étnica y Cultural de la nación colombiana, and some stores already print shorter festivo hours, such as Centro Internacional in Bogotá. Recheck the specific branch before going out.

❓ How do I check Cruz Verde or La Rebaja before leaving?

Open Cruz Verde's droguerías directory and read the observaciones on dispensación versus urgencias. For La Rebaja, use its locator and read that store's own hours, since neither brand is open all night everywhere.
