Colombia moves on motorcycles, but most portals still treat a motorcycle like any used item: a title, a price, three photos and a chat full of repeated questions. That's why we converted the motorcycle category in a specialized, free and commission-free space.

Now you can include brand, model, motorcycle type, year, mileage, engine displacement, fuel type, color, previous owners, SOAT and technical inspection expiration dates, as well as indicate if you have the transfer ready and maintenance history available.

Why Colombia needs a better motorcycle market

It's not a small category. In May 2026, the RUNT reported that 64% of the registered vehicle fleet in Colombia corresponds to motorcycles. And the market continues to grow: ANDI and Fenalco reported 654,146 new motorcycles registered during the first half of 2026, an increase of 33.70% compared to the same period in 2025.

The motorcycle is daily transportation, a work tool, time savings, and for many families, an important part of their income. A category with that weight deserves better listings, better filters, and a clearer way to connect buyers and sellers.

The types of motorcycles you can now choose from

Adding the type is optional, but it helps the right buyer find the listing without having to guess from the photo.

TypeWho it's useful for
Street / urbanDaily mobility, study, work and city commutes.
ScooterWho prioritizes comfort, storage, and automatic transmission.
SportsBuyers seeking posture, design, and sports performance.
Adventure / dual purposeHighway, travel and mixed routes.
Enduro / motocrossOff-road use and sports practice.
Cruiser / touringLong trips and relaxed driving.
Work / LoadHome deliveries, courier services, and productive activities.
ATV / UTV / four-wheelerFarms, recreation and special properties.

You can also indicate if it's electric in the fuel field. Buyers can filter by type, brand, year range, transmission, fuel, maximum mileage, engine displacement range, number of owners, current documents, ready for transfer, and maintenance history.

How to post a motorcycle to receive more serious inquiries

  1. Separate brand and model. "Yamaha" is the brand; "FZ 25" is the model. Writing both in a structured way improves the filters.
  2. Add the numbers that decide the purchase. Year, mileage, and engine displacement avoid the first round of basic messages.
  3. Post honest photos. Includes both sides, board turned on, tires, motor, chain, seat, and any visible scratches or repairs.
  4. Indicate the dates of the documents. The buyer can filter ads with current SOAT and technical inspection, but must confirm the official information on their own.
  5. Show maintenance and transfer. If you keep invoices or records, indicate it. If you have already prepared the documents to make the transfer, you can also mark it.
  6. Define price and city. A realistic price and a clear location reduce contacts that cannot confirm the visit.

You don't need to complete all fields to publish. They're optional because a useful listing shouldn't become an endless form. But each clear piece of information helps the buyer arrive better prepared.

Photos that reduce doubts before your visit

The first photo should show the complete motorcycle, with good lighting and without filters that change the color. Then it's convenient to cover what a serious buyer would review in person: left side, right side, front, rear, dashboard with mileage, engine, tires, drag kit and seat. If there is a dent, scratch or replaced part, photograph it up close.

Hide the complete license plate and any personal data that appears on the property card or invoices. You can demonstrate that you maintain the service history without publishing names, identification numbers, addresses, or document codes.

A short video with a cold start can also help, but it does not replace expert assessment. Avoid recording risky maneuvers or using a public road to demonstrate speed.

How to use the new filters when searching

Anyone looking for an urban motorcycle can combine street type, maximum displacement, and city. Anyone needing comfort can filter for scooter and automatic transmission. For trips you can start with adventure or dual-purpose; for work, with street or cargo and a reasonable mileage range. There are also direct access options for electric motorcycles, current documents, transfer ready, and maintenance history.

A filter does not certify the condition of the motorcycle. Its function is to reduce a large list to relevant candidates. Document and mechanical verification occurs later, directly with official sources and an independent professional.

The listing data helps you filter; expert appraisal and official verification help you decide.

What a buyer should verify before paying

The fields of a listing are seller statements, not a platform verification. Before making full payment:

  • Confirm that the seller's identity and the registered owner match.
  • Check the validity of SOAT and technical inspection by license plate on the official RUNT portal. The Ministry of Transport explains that consultation.
  • Check traffic citations, restrictions, and vehicle seizures through the corresponding official channels.
  • Compare chassis and engine numbers with the documentation.
  • Request an independent mechanical inspection, even if the motorcycle looks impeccable.
  • Leave price, payment method, condition, and responsibilities in a purchase agreement.
  • Complete the transfer before the transit authority. The official guidance from MinTransporte remember that the seller must carry out the transfer and that, if they do not do so, they continue to appear as the owner.

We also want the inventory of workshops and dealerships

A dealership shouldn't post twenty motorcycles one by one. Businesses with 10 or more listings can request free bulk upload: they send us their inventory in Excel, CSV or the link to their page and we adapt it to the required format. Photos can be hosted with us and a unique identifier allows you to update inventory without creating duplicates.

If you manage motorcycle inventory, write to us to activate bulk upload. We don't charge commission on sales.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to post or sell a motorcycle?

Posting the ad is free and the platform doesn't charge commission on the sale. The agreement, payment and any business expenses are handled directly between the parties.

Do I have to fill in all the technical details?

No. The fields are optional, but a listing with brand, model, year, mileage, engine displacement, city and clear photos avoids basic questions and makes comparisons easier.

Is it safe to buy a motorcycle with only the ad information?

No. The official guidance consulted in July 2026 requires verifying documents through official channels; also, it's advisable to have an independent appraisal before paying.

Where can I post that I'm looking for a motorcycle?

The same category allows you to create purchase requests. Describe the city, approximate budget, type of motorcycle and minimum conditions to receive relevant options.

How do I post many motorcycles from a dealership?

For 10 or more listings, request bulk upload through the contact form. The team can adapt an inventory in Excel or CSV to the structured format.
