Events on Colombia Move: publish plans in your city
We are launching Events: a calendar to publish and find local plans in Colombia, without losing the announcement in a chat.

If you live in Colombia, you already know how plans are made: someone drops it in a group, someone else forwards it on WhatsApp, and two days later, no one can find the time or the address. That isn't a calendar. That's a chat.
We are now opening a member Events section. You can post language exchanges, neighborhood fairs, DJ nights, or Sunday hikes there, with the date set to Colombia time and the city clearly marked. Those attending can mark themselves as going. If you cancel, they are notified.
This is not a service listing. If you are looking for a DJ or photographer, that remains in Events and Celebrations of the marketplace. This is for posting plans that people can attend.
What changes compared to a group
Large city groups mix rentals, recommendations, and events in the same thread. A Tuesday plan gets buried by Wednesday. Meetup exists in some cities, but it isn't integrated with housing, services, or the questions community that is already in the same place. We wanted a list that a local in Envigado and someone new to Medellín can open without having to join another group.

How to post
- Log in and open Events from your profile menu on your computer or from the menu on your phone.
- Tap Create event.
- Enter the name, date, and time (Colombia, America/Bogotá time zone), city, neighborhood, and whether it is in-person or virtual.
- Add a photo, address, capacity, or weekly recurrence if applicable.
- Publish. Those who mark 'Going' can see the virtual link; others cannot, so it doesn't get filled with people who didn't confirm.
You can also filter by today, this weekend, city, or your own plans. The ES/EN toggle translates the interface; the canonical URL in Spanish is /eventos and the English one is /en/events.
What you can post
- Language and conversation exchanges
- Music and parties
- Markets and fairs
- Sports and hikes
- Food, cafes, culture, cinema, workshops, and networking
If you also offer photography or sound, the plan goes in Events and the service in your ad. That part of the marketplace is in how to post photography and video for events.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to post an event?
Posting an event is free. The member calendar does not charge a commission for posting a plan (product rule in effect as of August 2026). You only pay what the venue or your guests charge, if applicable; there is no percentage taken on the event.
Why do I need to log in?
The section is for platform accounts. This ensures the plan has a visible host, 'Going' / 'Interested' responses are tied to a profile, and if you cancel, those who signed up can be notified. Creating an account remains free.
Where do I post and how do people find it?
You access /eventos (or /en/events in English) from your account menu. The list is filtered by city, category, and date. Anyone who receives the link on WhatsApp logs in and reaches the same event. It's not a group that requires an application for entry.
Is it safe to share the Zoom or Meet link?
The virtual link is only visible to the host and those who marked 'Going'. Anyone just browsing the page or marking 'Interested' does not receive that URL. It remains your responsibility not to paste passwords in the public description.
How is it different from Events and Celebrations?
That marketplace category is for hiring a service: DJ, catering, photo. This section is the plans calendar. You can use both: the event here and the service ad there, without mixing them in the same listing.
Can I write it in both Spanish and English?
Yes. The form allows for the name and details in both languages. Someone browsing in English sees your English text if you wrote it; if not, they see the Spanish version. The standard language toggle does not change the website.
Does it work for a plan that repeats every Tuesday?
Yes. You can mark it to repeat every week, every 15 days, or every month. This way, a recurring exchange doesn't look like a one-night event, and people understand that they can return.
Housing, services, and community were already under the same roof. Events is the calendar for your city's plans. If you are organizing something this week, post it and stop chasing announcements in a chat.
