How do I calculate my severance pay if I resign or am fired?

I have been at the same company for 3 years with an indefinite contract and I want to know what I am entitled to if I resign, and what changes if they fire me without just cause.

Your severance pay gathers several things: pending severance (a monthly salary per year, proportional), interest on severance (12% annually), service bonus proportional to the current semester, and untaken vacations (15 business days per year, proportional). If they fire you WITHOUT just cause with an indefinite contract, the compensation is added: with a salary lower than 10 SMMLV it is 30 days for the first year plus 20 days for each following year. If you resign, there is no compensation but everything else must be paid to you. You can calculate the exact value with your salary and dates at https://colombiamove.com/herramientas/liquidacion-laboral — use the official 2026 figures.
