Where to sell used construction scaffolding, concrete mixers and formwork in Colombia
A guide for contractors wrapping up a job: how to describe used scaffolding, mixers and formwork, which documents to mention, and how to get paid and make deliveries without surprises.

Quick answer: Publish each equipment family with photos of the counted pieces, the legible data plate, what is missing, and how it is picked up. That way a contractor with money writes to you, not a curious browser.
When the job wraps up, the yard fills with frames, a stored concrete mixer, and formwork panels nobody will use for months. Idle equipment is idle money. And the buyer, who is almost always another site foreman, wants three things: complete pieces, proof of the real condition, and a clear pickup site. Publishing on Colombia Move charges no commission, but the listing is what sells the equipment.
What you sell: three families, three different listings
Don't mix everything into one "construction equipment" ad. Each family is bought for different reasons.
- Scaffolding: frame type (frames, cross braces, platforms, wheels, anchors), suspended, and mobile tower. Each type is described separately.
- Concrete mixers: electric or combustion. State the engine type and whether it starts.
- Formwork: metal or panel type, with the count of pins, wedges, and aligners.
Drills, polishers, and generators already have their own guide: how to sell used construction power tools. Here we focus on heavy equipment.
The listing that filters out empty messages
An ad that says "concrete mixer good condition, price negotiable" gets twenty "is it still available?" messages and no sale. Better:
- "Used" in the title. Law 1480 (art. 15) requires stating clearly and prominently that the product is used when it is offered to the public.
- Brand and capacity, if they can be read on the plate.
- Exact quantity: number of frames and cross braces, or square meters of formwork and the pin count.
- What is missing, where there is rust, dents, or leaks, and whether the engine fails to start.
- Year or hours of use only if you have them written down; don't guess.
- State how pickup works, without turning the location into a marketplace.
I'll admit the uncomfortable part: taking these photos is a hassle once the job is closed. Even so, ten minutes in the yard with a phone are worth more than fifty chats. To document condition and handover, also see this guide on condition and handover of used tools.
What should be visible in the photos
Frames stacked with the cross braces beside them, pins and wedges laid out in a row so they can be counted, the inside of the drum, the data plate, and the rust without hiding it. The standard I reviewed does not set a minimum sheet thickness or a formwork gauge you can cite, so don't invent measurements: show the piece.
Paperwork and safety: what you must state
Resolution 4272 of 2021 from the Ministry of Labor regulates work at height. It does not create a sales permit, nor does it prohibit you from posting a used frame. But whoever buys to use it at height needs to know what they are getting.
- Scaffolding: according to article 16, the system and its components must be certified under the applicable standard, and the manufacturer must provide information in Spanish: a manual or parts catalog and recommendations for storage, maintenance, inspection, assembly, disassembly, use, and operation. If you don't have the certificate or the manual, say so in the ad.
- Suspended: cables, connectors, and pulleys are described apart from the frame; they must be certified, be original parts of a certified system, or have engineering designs.
- With wheels: the mobile tower is moved according to the manufacturer, under the supervision of the work-at-height coordinator, and never with people on it.
I'm not including an assembly manual: on-site use follows the resolution and the manufacturer's instructions.
Warranty: consumer or contractor
Law 1480 applies to consumer relations. If you sell to a consumer, a used item can go without warranty only if you disclose this and the buyer accepts it in writing; otherwise the term is three months. But someone who buys a concrete mixer or formwork for their job, as part of their economic activity, falls outside that definition. Between contractors, don't assume that rule applies on its own: record the accepted condition in writing.
Origin and invoice
Watch out for receiving stolen goods: acquiring, possessing, or transferring property of criminal origin can be a crime even if you did not take part in the prior act, and a private contract does not erase that risk. Show the serial number on the plate, the invoice, or whatever origin document exists. If there is no invoice, a private document with details of both parties and the accepted condition helps, although it does not replace anything above.
Electronic invoice? Not every individual who sells their own concrete mixer is required to issue one. If you are already a merchant, a VAT-liable taxpayer, or an invoicer, this sale must also be invoiced. Confirm your case on the RUT and with the DIAN or your accountant.

Testing, payment, and delivery
Offer the test in the yard: engine running only if starting it is safe, drum turning, frames assembled at mid-height on the ground. No tests under dangerous loads.
For payment, make no advances to strangers and be wary of checks; this guide explains the bounced check scam in sales. Collect in a verifiable way against delivery. Heavy equipment almost never travels in a private car: state in the ad who arranges and pays for the truck, so you don't negotiate it ten times. There is no official freight rate to cite.
If you also plan to hire workers for your next job, that goes separately: how to post construction jobs. And if your work is offering assembly or rental, that is a service, not a sale; the category Engineering and Technical Services is for services.
Where to publish without commission
Facebook groups don't provide a tidy listing with price, photos, and map, and posts sink within hours. For an overview of channels, the guide where to sell used items in Colombia is useful; then return to your scaffolding and formwork. An honest note: on October 8, 2026, the Jobs category "Construction and Maintenance" showed 0 listings and is for vacancies, not equipment sales; and Engineering and Technical Services had 15 service listings. That is why your sale works better with the marketplace sales search.
Monday, October 12, 2026 agenda
That Monday is the paid holiday of October 12: since the date already falls on a Monday, Law 51 of 1983 does not move it. If the job stops, use the time to photograph the yard, count pieces, and agree on pickup. The law pays that holiday like a Sunday and does not set a surcharge percentage in its text.
Frequently asked questions
❓ Can I sell a used scaffold if I don't have the manufacturer's certificate?
You can post it, but you must state that the certificate and manual are not available. Whoever uses it at height needs that backing under Resolution 4272 of 2021, and that rule is not a sales permit. (verify with the official source)
❓ Does a used concrete mixer come with a three-month warranty?
Only if the buyer is a consumer and did not accept in writing that it goes without warranty. Between contractors buying for a job, that rule does not apply on its own; record the equipment's condition in writing. (verify with the official source)
❓ What photos prevent curious browsers for formwork and mixers?
Photos that count the pieces and show the plate, the rust, and what is missing. Frames with cross braces, loose pins next to the panel, the inside of the drum, and the engine running only if starting it is safe. Don't invent sheet measurements.
❓ How much does it cost to publish, and do you charge a commission on the sale?
Publishing on Colombia Move charges no commission or listing fee, according to the site as of October 8, 2026. Payment goes directly between the parties, and whoever the ad states pays for the pickup truck. There is no official freight rate to cite. (verify with the official source)
❓ How do I sell safely and avoid scams?
Show the serial number and origin, test in the yard, and collect in a verifiable way against delivery. Don't hand anything over as an advance to strangers and be wary of checks. A well-documented sale discourages anyone looking to deceive. (verify with the official source)
❓ Do I have to issue an electronic invoice for my own concrete mixer?
Not every occasional sale by an individual is required to be invoiced. If you already invoice, are a merchant, or are a VAT-liable taxpayer, this sale must also be invoiced. Confirm your case on the RUT and with the DIAN. (verify with the official source)
❓ Where can I post my used scaffolding and formwork?
On Colombia Move you can post them as a sales listing, with photos, a description, and direct WhatsApp contact. Put "used" in the title, count the pieces, and explain how pickup works to attract serious contractors.
