What documents do I need to rent an apartment as a foreigner?

It all depends on who you sign the contract with - whether it's directly with the property owner - or with a real estate agency - in each case each one will ask for documentation based on their information needs to exchange the property I would think that the most basic documentation is employment references and proof of income.
